Patient Rights and Responsibilities
At Carroll Children’s Center, we believe families should be informed, empowered, and supported in their child’s health care. Understanding patient rights and responsibilities creates trust and promotes the best possible care for every child.
Patient Rights
Every child and family in our practice has important rights. These rights ensure dignity, safety, and access to high-quality pediatric care. We are committed to protecting these rights at all times.
- Receive respectful, compassionate care in a safe and supportive environment.
- Have personal health information kept private, in line with federal and state privacy laws.
- Get clear explanations of medical conditions, treatment options, and preventive care recommendations.
- Access timely appointments, including urgent visits when needed.
- Be informed about all vaccines and preventive screening tests (Well Child Visits).
- Participate in decisions about their child’s treatment and care plans.
- Request referrals to specialists or community resources as appropriate.
Our Commitment as Your Primary Care Team
As a primary care provider, Carroll Children’s Center promises to deliver the highest quality care to every child. We do this by:
- Reviewing each child’s health history during every visit.
- Providing evidence-based treatment and preventive care.
- Notifying families promptly of test results.
- Responding quickly to questions and concerns with clear communication.
- Maintaining integrity and transparency in our billing practices (Insurance and Billing).
Patient and Family Responsibilities
High-quality pediatric care also requires active participation by families. By taking responsibility, parents help us create the best care experience for their children.
- See yourselves as full partners in your child’s health care.
- Provide a complete and accurate medical history, including past care records.
- Come prepared for visits with questions and updates on medications or therapies.
- Follow the agreed-upon treatment plan and notify us of any barriers to care.
- Take prescribed medications and supportive therapies as directed.
- Keep scheduled appointments or notify our office as early as possible to reschedule.
- Contact our on-call physician for urgent medical needs outside regular office hours.
- Whenever possible, call us before going to the emergency room. We may arrange in-office care and coordinate treatment.
- Ensure that all providers on our team have access to your child’s medical information.
- Understand your health insurance coverage and responsibilities. Contact our billing team with questions.
Working Together for Your Child’s Health
When families and providers work together, children benefit from the best medical care. By understanding patient rights and responsibilities, we can create stronger partnerships and healthier futures for every child we serve.
